Champage and Cupcakes with CakeStyle!

9:41 AM

Tuesday evening my friend Sam and I headed over to the glamorous Ames Hotel in downtown Boston for an event hosted by CakeStyle.com benefiting Consultation for a Cause and Dress for Success.

Never heard of CakeStyle? CakeStyle is a personal styling service that ships an assortment of clothing and accessories to your door. You take 10 days to try it on, play with other items in your closet, make your selection and ship back the rest! You only pay for what you keep and the selections are based on an interview and picked by stylists based on your personal style. Prices range from $30-$500 and they have a great selection of designers including the classic Diane Von Furstenberg, cult favorite Paige Denim, and fresh newcomers Milly and Shoshanna. Pretty genius, huh?

CakeStyle was co-founded by CEO Cecelia Meyers and I was lucky enough to get to chat with her between presentations. Cecelia has such a great vision for the company and has the business know-how to take CakeStyle far. She's ambitious and eager to continue expanding the business into shoes, adding other price points, and more. Also on hand at the event was one of CakeStyles stylists, Kait Hunter. In addition to working as a stylist at CakeStyle, Kait also blogs over at Hunter Style. As one of several stylists on staff Kait not only selects and styles the merchandise for you, but your CakeStyle box comes with a personalized DVD. It's a truly unique and personal experience. I'd love to celebrate a pay bump or milestone event by getting one of these boxes. I will patiently await an occasion!

Congrats to Cecelia and the entire CakeStyle team; they've recently outgrown their office space in Chicago and will be relocating to a bigger and better location! This is a really exciting time for CakeStyle, and a great time to check out their service. I feel pretty confident telling you to try it out despite not having ordered myself because there is absolutely no risk involved. The styling is free, the shipping is free, and there's no obligation to keep anything from the box. If you truly dislike it, you can send it back.

CakeStyle Accessories. Sam and I both received this necklace for our Dress for Success donations.

Sam and I had a great time catching up at the event, enjoying the complimentary champagne and cupcakes as well as meeting fellow blogger Brooke from Insparisian. Check out her blog, I have a feeling you'll be seeing us collaborate soon!

Thanks to CakeStyle for extending the invite and the Ames Hotel for such wonderful hospitality! It was a fabulous evening!
