Gilt Warehouse Sale Finds!

4:30 PM

Gilt brought its infamous warehouse sale to town and a friend invited me to attend the opening reception with him and his friends. I wasn't sure what to expect; I had never attended one of their warehouse sales and I am still very much a sample sale amateur.

The shoes were hard to go through, boxes were tumbling and they were piled high but the staff was extremely helpful, holding open and moving around boxes to help you reach what you liked. I went through a few of the clothing racks and wasn't impressed with the selection but there were definitely some gems in there. The home and accessories section was small and pretty limited. Some cute belts, but none in my size. The men's selection was pretty great however, both of the gentlemen I attended with bought some great pieces.

I sipped on a bellini-like beverage while I perused the shoes and lo and behold in one of the first boxes I opened were these quirky Also Rise by Preen Giffe booties. The geometric heel was the closer for me, I think they're fantastic. I can't wait to wear them! Someone have a party!

I saw so many great summer sandals (including a gorgeous Kate Spade pair with rhinestones), but my toes tend to spread out while I walk so all those cute T strap sandals leave me with my toes hanging off the edge. Not cute. Instead, I found these suede sandals from Coclico. They're simple but I have a feeling I will be getting a lot of use out of them.

And last but not least, I will leave you with a peek of this 3.1 Phillip Lim sweater dress I found. It's the perfect slouchy winter knit, but when belted looks instantly more sophisticated and chic. It retailed for about $600. You'll see it up on here soon!

All three of these items came out to just under $200. Some great savings I'd say! Did you check out the sale? Were there any knock out finds out there?
