Day Trippin': NYC

10:20 PM

Last week I took a very short business trip to New York City (I was there for about 4 hours). I'm really excited to share that I am going to be featured in some internal associate materials for Loft this Fall! I have to take two trips to NYC, and last week was the first.

After hopping on the Acela (and what seemed like a very short nap) I woke up in New York and hightailed it to the Ann Inc. corporate office in Times Square. After checking in, I made my way to a makeshift dressing area and got a peek at the new Fall collection. It's hard for me to think "Fall" when my brain is screaming "THANK GOD FOR SUMMER" but Loft never disappoints and I already have a short wishlist for Fall! I tried on four looks, and each was pinned and a few test photos were taken and that was that.

I had a couple of hours to kill before my train back to Boston so I roamed Times Square and Rockefeller Center for a bit in search of cupcakes. It wasn't long before I ended up at the well-known Magnolia Bakery. Although I found their icing to be just a little bit too sweet, I loved the cupcake. It was perfectly moist and not too crumbly. Later this week I'll be seeking out French macarons so if you have any recs for great macarons in NYC (aside from Laduree) do share!

After devouring my cupcake, I headed up 6th to Central Park to snap a few outfit photos. I wanted to be comfortable on the train so I wore my favorite neoprene leggings from Cynthia Rowley and my new "dressy" chambray shirt from the Gap (which doesn't seem to be available online). I've been drawn to this dark denim chambray for situations were I need to look a bit more polished/dressed up but still comfortable. Look out for it in another outfit post soon!

After snapping a few photos it was just about time to catch the train back to Boston, but not before stopping at MAC in Times Square for a new lipstick! Josephine helped me pick out Lady Danger, a gorgeous orange shade that's perfect for Summer.

This Friday is the photo shoot so I will be headed back to NYC on Thursday! I'm so excited for this opportunity! I feel so blessed to have been nominated and selected to participate in this campaign. At previous retail jobs, opportunities like this didn't exist. Just one of the many reasons I love my job at Loft!
