Martinis with Absolut Elyx

When Absolut asked me to get together seven friends to make martinis at Boston Chops with their new Absolut Elyx vodka some of my favorite Boston bloggers and their beaus came to mind. KTab, Kayte, and Britt brought their better halves, and Dan Weidman was my left hand man for the night. We enjoyed a brief history of the martini from one of Boston Chops in-house bartenders followed by a hands-on demo where we learned you actually don't want your martini shaken. Sorry, James, you're doing it wrong!
Truth be told, I'm not much of a martini drinker but I had a blast anyways. Absolut let us borrow their Instax camera so we went ham taking instant photos (view them with #elyxmartini!) and of course, eating! Boston Chops has an amazing menu and we enjoyed a delicious sampling of it. The ceviche was a definite favorite of mine.
We lingered well after the food was gone, sipping Absolut cocktails and catching up after a long Winter of hiding out. It feels good to be out with friends again! After our martini class I went for more food at Babbo Pizzeria followed by drinks at STRIP by Strega. It was quite a fun Wednesday evening on the town. Special thanks to Absolut Elyx for hosting us!
