What I Wore: Ladies Lunch at Aquitaine

4:31 PM

This past Bastille Day, Aquitaine in the South End revealed a beautiful renovation after a short closure. The updated bar is a much brighter, inviting space and the dining room also received a facelift with modern fixtures and new artwork. It's a gorgeous new space.

It's a picture perfect space, with lots of light so I couldn't resist organizing a ladies lunch with two of my favorite Boston bloggers and friends, Khatu & Jean. A blogger lunch is pretty much my favorite excuse to dress up so I wore this new satin maxi dress I received from Banana Republic. I realized how few dresses I own and this one can be styled for more casual occasions (think flats and a leather belt) or dressed up like below for more formal occasions like weddings, events, and blogger lunches!

I debated between the petite sizing and regular for this maxi dress for a good twenty minutes. The petite didn't touch the floor and wasn't too short, but I really wanted the option to wear heels with it so I opted for a 0R instead of the 2P. I love the double vent detail; super flattering for shorter legs and the peek of leg is subtly sexy. The shoes, also from Banana Republic, were a fab find at 40% off! I couldn't resist the double ankle strap and metallic details.

As it happens, we all showed up in black! Khatu wore a fitted black sheath dress while Jean opted for a lace detail romper. We enjoyed glasses of rosé over escargot and mussels. You'll have to check back next week for a full review of lunch at Aquitaine (complete with lots of mouth-watering photos)!
