Making My Home My Own with Paintzen!

2:27 PM

When I bought my condo, one of the things I was most excited for was painting and finally having the ability to make a space my own without a pesky landlord requiring me to whitewash my walls before inevitably moving out. I knew I wanted to do an accent wall and I knew I wanted to do it myself so when I found out about Paintzen's new DIY kits I was excited and empowered to take on my first DIY project as a homeowner.

Paintzen offers full service painting services for both residential and commercial clients but with the introduction of their DIY kits, painting your own home has never been easier. Simply click on DIY Kits from the Paintzen homepage and follow the prompts to design the space of your dreams. The hardest part is selecting colors! Paintzen uses high quality Benjamin-Moore paints and they offer so many colors to choose from. After several trips to my local Benjamin-Moore retailer I finally settled on Jade Garden for my accent wall; a gorgeous, deep shade of teal with hints of black. It perfectly complimented the remaining walls in my living room, which are painted with Benjamin-Moore's King Arthur's Court.

After selecting your primary wall colors Paintzen will also allow you to select colors for accent walls, doors, trim, ceiling, baseboards, etc. You name it, Paintzen makes sure you won't forget it! At the end, they will automatically add the supplies and brushes needed to complete your project. Tape, drop cloths, rollers, it's all selected for you.

Shortly after placing my order I was pleasantly surprised with a call from Paintzen confirming my order and delivery time. They made thoughtful suggestions (eggshell instead of semi-gloss finishes for the walls, perhaps one less gallon if I wasn't painting the ceiling or trim) and adjusted my order accordingly. The next day it all arrived on my doorstep ready to paint and to finally complete my living room!

I put down the drop cloth, taped off the trim and ceiling and went to work. I must say, I felt pretty proud when I was able to call this project done and settle into my completed living room. I absolutely love how it turned out, it's exactly what I imagined.

Now I've got a DIY bug and am already starting to plan my next painting project... Can't wait to share with you all!
