Lunch at Glass House!

4:29 PM

We all know Boston has some amazing restaurants but when was the last time you ventured to Cambridge for a meal? There's a growing list of Cambridge restaurants to hit on my list of Must-Try eateries and I crossed the recently opened Glass House off my list. Opened in mid-November, this stunning 6,500 sq. ft. space has floor to ceiling windows, a private dining room, and patio inspired by the historical and innovative space that is Kendall Square. Cara and I stopped by for lunch and couldn't resist grabbing a spot near the window-- perfect for people watching and snapping blog photos!

After ordering a couple of glasses of wine (Les Domaines Paul Mas, Rosé), we ordered a couple of apps including the Smoked Bluefish Paté and Cheese & Charcuterie. Of course, a restaurant is only as good as their Charcuterie plate, and I'm happy to say Glass House passed the test! Their charcuterie is made up of the Chef's choice of cured meats and cheeses paired with whole grain mustard, cornichons, and crostini. Paired with their Smoked Bluefish Pats it was the perfect lunch time app combo for snacking and sharing. The Paté had great flavor and was served with plenty of bread (hello, lover of carbs over here).

For mains, I ordered a classic New England Lobster Roll that arrived with golden, crispy fries and chunks of fresh lobster spilling out of the bun (a big hunk of claw meat too, just the way I like it)! Cara opted for the Fusili & Pesto which looked amazing and was topped with fresh melty Manchego cheese. It was a delicious meal and left me wanting to order more-- I didn't get to try the Grilled Octopus or the Mussels & Fries. After getting a taste of the menu, the excellent service, and the gorgeous setting, you can bet I'll be back for that Grilled Octopus ASAP!
