Backstage with Lady Gaga and VerizonUP

1:43 PM

When a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet one of your favorite artists comes along, you don't say no! I recently received an invitation from Verizon to experience the perks of their new VerizonUP rewards program exclusively for Verizon Wireless customers. Earn one point for every $300 on your monthly wireless bill and start redeeming them for exclusive rewards.

One such reward? Floor seats, a backstage tour, and a meet and greet with Lady Gaga herself. I said, SIGN ME UP, VERIZONUP! Lady Gaga performed on September 1st and 2nd at Fenway Park, and believe it or not, Gaga was the first female headliner EVER at Fenway Park. I arrived at Fenway at about 3:30pm and after grabbing my ticket and VIP lanyards from the Verizon staff I made my way to the VIP entrance. Myself and the rest of the VIP group then made our way to the concert floor were we watched the backup dancers rehearse with the lead choreographer.

After watching rehearsal we headed into the depths of Fenway Park and had dinner with the roadies and crew backstage. The menu was akin to that of a five star restaurant; scallops, lobster, steak, fingerling potatoes, a full juice bar, and more. After fueling up we ventured into the Royal Rooters Club for a VIP reception with fellow Little Monsters. We enjoyed cocktails at the bar while waiting patiently for the main event-- our moment to meet Lady Gaga! Unfortunately, this is show business and sound check and rehearsals took longer than anticipated so we had to wait until after the show to meet Gaga. We filed into our VIP seats-- SIXTH ROW ON THE FLOOR OF FENWAY PARK and eagerly waited for the show to begin.

A countdown clock illuminated and began a ten minute countdown till the show and the crowd went nuts! As soon as the clock hit zero, Lady Gaga took to the stage and it was a full on blur of singing, dancing, leather, and sequins for the next two and a half hours. After the show we piled into the dugout to wait for Lady Gaga. We were like school kids gushing over Gaga, sharing stories and memories, and rehearsing what we would say to her.

Shortly after we had our moment- we filed into a small room inside the dugout and got to say a few works and shake her hand. We snapped a quick photo and all left in a state of bliss and awe! Gaga is a tiny little peanut, and was wearing a sky high pair of platforms but was the sweetest and most down to earth person ever! I went home on could 9, reeling in the once in a lifetime opportunity I just experienced. Shout out to Verizon UP for making it possible! If you're a Verizon Wireless customer you can enroll for free and start earning amazing rewards like these.
