Staycation: Sheraton Boston

1:24 PM

I've explored my share of Boston hotels but had yet to have the pleasure of staycationing in the heart of Boston's Back Bay until the Sheraton invited me to enjoy a stay with Club privileges at their Back Bay location. I've walked through the Sheraton a million times; attended conferences, cut through to the Prudential Center on cold winter days, and visited their bar a lot back when I worked in the Pru and it was truly a pleasure to get to stay as a guest.

When I arrived I was greeted by the Club Manager at the front desk and immediately made to feel right at home. I went up to my 27th floor room and was immediately floored by the sweeping views of Boston and the Charles River! (And thats just one of the many Club perks!) I quickly dropped by bags on the couch before setting out for an afternoon at the spa. Right downstairs just beyond the lobby and hotel bar, The Sheraton Boston houses the Green Tangerine Spa & Salon where I was headed for a deep tissue sports massage.

I was in heaven throughout my massage! There was an assortment of scented oils choose from and my masseuse was very attentive to the knots in my shoulders and my preference for a firm pressure. Following my massage I returned to my room to find a bottle of Prosecco and a sweet treat waiting in my room, which was a lovely way to start the evening!

Since I was staying in such a central area of Boston, I opted for a night on the town with my boyfriend consisting of dinner at Mistral followed by drinks at The Hawthorne. It was a quick Uber back to the hotel at the end of the evening, but public transportation is also a breeze since the Sheraton is connected to the Prudential Center and adjacent Green Line station. We ended the night with a nightcap at their on-site bar, Sidebar.

Needless to say, after a night on the town and said night cap, I was in need of a good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast. After waking up in the huge king size bed, we reluctantly got dressed and headed down for breakfast at Apropos, the on-site cafe which is open for breakfast until 11am. My boyfriend and I both eagerly ordered Croque Madame Grilled Baguettes (thin sliced-smoked ham, Gruyere cheese, topped with béchamel sauce & a sunny-side up egg) alongside bacon, juice, and coffees. It did not disappoint. But then again, a fried egg makes everything better, if you ask me!

After breakfast I spent a few more hours in bed catching up on emails and reflecting on our amazing Back Bay staycation before reluctantly checking out. The location and on-site amenities of the Sheraton Boston simply cannot be beat and is a great hotel to consider if you'll be visiting the area, especially in the winter! The ease of access to the Prudential Center, Copley Mall, and neighboring restaurants and shops is essential.
