NYFW Spotlight: Christina Yi

9:53 AM

New York Fashion Week officially kicks off today! The blogosphere is buzzing and Tweets and Instagrams are flooding in from all over New York City. I won't be at the shows, but I'll be keeping up. We're all looking forward to the big shows like The Row and DVF, but if you look closely you'll find little known names with unique visions. My friend Jillian is doing some social media work for one of those up and coming designers, Christina Yi

Christina Yi is right on trend for Fall with leather accents and dark knits. Her collection consists of ready to wear looks for both men and women with an avant-garde touch. The collection is titled "Serpent's Nest" and is inspired by Yi's fear of snakes. Tickets for her show on Sunday are no longer available but you can check out the video preview below. The winding detail on that black knit dress has me intrigued! I can't wait to see Jillian's snapshots from the show. Keep an eye on the Christina Yi website (http://www.christinayidesigns.com) for more!

P.s. Be sure to follow her on Twitter where they'll be revealing exclusive photos from the Serpent's Nest video shoot all day today!
