Pro-Tip Tuesday: Brow Makeup

2:31 PM

It's pretty evident that I love a strong brow. For years I fought the thick nature of my eyebrows but nowadays I embrace it. A strong brow instantly makes me look more polished and alert. If I don't fill in my brows I feel a little naked.

I start by using Clinique Brow Shaper in Taupe to fill in the entire brow. I clean up any loose powder, and take a q-tip or run my finger above my brow to clean up the shape. I like the way powder fills in the brow without making it look waxy or too stark (a common mistake if you're heavy handed with a pencil) but I prefer a more defined line than the powder creates.

So, I follow that with Smashbox's Brow Tech To Go filling in any spots the powder didn't completely fill and using it to define the outline of my brows. It's important to use short, light strokes to prevent that waxy effect I mentioned.

Last but not least, I swear by a good brow gel. Smashbox's Brow Tech To Go has a brow gel on the opposite end of the pencil which I love, but I also like Anastasia's Brow Gel as well. It helps keep any wayward hairs in place and sets the makeup.

And there you have it, my brow makeup routine! Next week I'll be dishing all my best mascara tips and tricks as well as my favorite lash products.
