What I Wore: An Absolut-ly Awesome Lunch

8:33 AM

The Twitterverse was buzzing about a secret show in Boston with DJ Questlove and I knew I had to be there. It was all a part of the Absolut Lunch Break, a one hour top-secret show and lunch party. For one hour you danced, enjoyed a free drink, and then they sent you home with lunch to take back to the office. Can you say marketing genius?

Questlove absolutely killed it! I wasn't sure how many people would be up for partying in the middle of the day but he got everyone out on the floor and dancing...

Questlove is best known as the drummer for The Roots, but he is also a DJ, music journalist and author, and producer. It was awesome to get to see such a renowned DJ in such an intimate venue. He played current artists, throwbacks, and even old school songs from Ray Charles and similar artists which he mixed flawlessly.

Absolut offered three different drinks for the afternoon: the Absolut Lunch Break, Absolut Punch, and their new Absolute Tune. I love anything sparkling served in a champagne flute, so I tried Tune. It's a sparkling mix of white wine and vodka, and it wasn't half bad. I had no idea it has vodka in it, which explains the somewhat harsh first sip. I would definitely be up for trying it again, but I'm not sure I'd purchase it.

Lunch consisted of a PB&J, a sample of Pretzel Crisps, and a KIND Plus bar. I was lucky enough to have the day off so I enjoyed my PB&J in the common. After my "lunch break" I wandered down Newbury but didn't even make it two blocks before stumbling upon the Kate Spade Friends & Family sale... I promptly went home after leaving the shop. But not before taking a few outfit photos for you! Super casual but with fun heels for a mid-day bash.
