The Urban Art Bar

1:30 PM

Last month Nicco and I headed to South Boston to visit the Urban Art Bar, a paint-as-you-drink class which provides you the tools and the instruction to create your very own master piece. We ordered a bottle of prosecco from the bar and settled into the back corner of the room to get down to business.

Our instructor, Keri was super sweet and the pace of the class was perfect. Our class was aimed at painting a "Funky Harbor Sunset", and although I am no artist I was pretty pleased with my piece. Keri made it easy to follow along and it was really cool seeing how each person put their own flair on their pieces.

I used lots of white and went for more pastel shades than the neon colors that were provided while my boyfriend... well, he took some creative liberties of his own and created something certainly unique. That's definitely one of the fun things about Urban Art Bar, if you want to rotate your canvas unlike everyone else or create your own abstract piece you are certainly free to do so!

I would definitely recommend a trip to Urban Art Bar with a group of girlfriends, or as a unique birthday celebration. My boyfriend and I both thought it was a fun date night activity; we had fun laughing at each other's paintings and getting in touch with our creative sides. The two and a half hour class flew by quickly and at the end of it we got two new pieces of "art" to take home... (mine on the left, Nicco's on the right)

Urban Art Bar is located at 163 Old Colony Avenue in South Boston, a short walk from the Andrew T station. Classes start at $45 per person. Check out their website for their class calendar! *Drinks and gratiuity are not included in admission price.

Myself and a guest were provided complimentary admission by Urban Art Bar and Blog & Tweet Boston in exchange for review purposes. All opinions expressed are my own.
