New Boston Fave: Bluemercury

7:39 PM

Tucked away on Newbury Street is the holy grail of beauty and skin care; Bluemercury. Kerrie of Rarely Taken Seriously and I stopped into Bluemercury last Friday for a facial and makeup session and we were seriously blown away by the service! And not just the service they provided us, but the service they provided to each and every customer to walk through their door. It's amazing.

Bluemercury is a specialty spa and beauty store and they carry some amazing brands. Think Trish McEvoy, NARS, Diptyque, Jo Malone, La Mer, Kiehl's, and their own signature line M-61 just to name a few. Manager Nina and makeup artist Krystina gave us a tour of the shop and a little history behind some of the brands they carry before Kerrie headed in for her facial, about an hour later she emerged looking fresh faced and skin glowing. Their Esthetician Alicia then swept me away to their relaxing spa room and I received my own Glow & Go facial with some of the amazing products from the M-61 line (created by Bluemercury owner and founder Marla Beck).

While I was getting my facial Krystina did Kerrie's makeup, giving her a natural but glowing look to complement her facial. While I was hanging around the store Krystina did a regular client's makeup for the evening and she left looking absolutely stunning and ready for a night on the town! Despite the high end brands that they carry, they are amazing to each and every client that visits regardless of their intent to purchase, and encourage clients to test and sample new products.

After visiting Bluemercury I can honestly say I will be doing much more of my beauty shopping here, especially since they carry two of my staple brands, Laura Mercier and NARS. No need to attempt to navigate the chaos that is the Prudential Sephora when this hidden gem is conveniently up the block. Plus we had so much fun chatting and learning about new products with Nina, Krystina, and Alicia that I can't wait to go back and catch up with them!

At the end of the night my skin felt amazing-- so amazing I actually declined having my makeup done, wanting to savor the glowing state my skin was in. Kerrie and I went home with goodie bags packed with samples as well as a generous heap of their signature scented potpourri (included with all Bluemercury gift packaging!). I hope you stop by this amazing shop next time you're taking a walk down Newbury Street, you won't regret it!
