Life moves quickly and for me, it's important to take some time to myself to reflect, relax, and unwind. I took a few moments before one of my best friends wedding's this week to delight in a little skin care R&R with Delight Beauty and both my soul and my skin were thankful I did!


There's something so meditative about the ritual of caring for your skin, and Delight Beauty really elevates that experience to the next level with their thoughtfully crafted products and innovative applicators. I started with their Sparkling Clean Zinc Face Wash which is infused with natural zinc to draw out impurities, papaya and pomegranate enzymes to combat oil, and Hyaluronic acid to keep skin balanced and moisturized. With a gentle lather and the soft scents of lemongrass and coconut, this is one cleanser that will leave both you and your skin refreshed.


Next, I followed up with two of my new favorite products from Delight Beauty; their Roll with It Gel Detox Mask and Fresh Sweep Calming Gel Toner. With innovative, antibacterial applicators these are two products I won't be traveling without again! Immediately after cleansing I applied their Roll With It Gel Detox Mask with their rolling applicator that cools and stimulates the skin as you apply it. Natural graptefuit, mango, and pomegranate enzymes reappear in this formula to dissolve excess oil and dirt while glycolic acid ever so gently exfoliates the skins surface. This is the perfect face mask when you're on the go-- just remove with a wet cloth. No sticky residue or film is left behind.
Following my mask, I followed up with their Fresh Sweep Calming Gel Toner. With a swipe of the charcoal infused brush this silky gel toner soothes and purifies and quickly absorbs into the skin. Toner is a step so many people tend to skip in their skincare routine but when Delight Beauty makes it as effortless as a swipe of a brush it's too simple to skip!


I finished my mini facial with a swipe of Delight Beauty's Smooth Hydration Nourishing Moisturizer. This silky smooth, quick absorbing moisturizer is lightweight but packed with ingredients like avocado and shea butter that deeply hydrate your skin. Did I mention all of the above products are cruelty-free and vegan, as well as free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and petrolatum. It's truly a skincare routine that feels as good on my skin with ingredients I can feel good about!

What I love about these powerful little pore strips is the (kind of gross) sense of satisfaction you get when you remove them. All that gunk, gone; it's a deep down clean you can see! Bioré's Self Heating One Minute Mask is new to my routine, but has certainly earned its spot in my medicine cabinet! It only takes one minute and feels amazing. As you massage this thick, grey mask into your skin it heats up all on its own, drawing dirt out of your pores. It never hardens and rinses clean. I can definitely take a hot minute for that! 

Taking time for skincare is so important, even if it's just five minutes! This duo from Bioré makes it easy to take time for yourself and take care of your skin. 

Whether your skin shows signs of fatigue, has imperfections, a red or sallow complexion, or dark spots like mine, there's a formula for everyone. To address and minimize the appearance of my dark spots I tried Clarins SOS Primer in 03 Coral. I applied it with my favorite silicone blender and then went in and applied my regular foundation over it. My foundation blended beautifully over this lightweight primer and thanks to the oil free formula, didn't get cakey or feel heavy throughout the day.

I also tried Clarins SOS Primer in 00 Universal, as well which I absolutely LOVE for everyday wear. It provides just the right amount of radiance and luminance with genuine mother of pearl pigments. Layer under your foundation or mix it right in to save time during your morning routine. The Coral is by far my favorite for photoshoots and special occasions-- it really does minimize the appearance of dark spots and evens skin tone. Clarins SOS Primers have definitely earned themselves a spot in my beauty routine! 

Tucked away in the back of the store is a full service salon including Hair services by The Salon at Ulta Beauty and Skin services by Dermalogica Skin Bar. I booked a 60 minute Dermalogica Skin Treatment with Ari last week, and was excited about my first spa experience at Ulta.


Just like your favorite luxe spas, you'll get comfortable and make yourself at home in a cozy white bathrobe. Ari asked me multiple questions about my skin and skincare routine before she began selecting a personalized skin treatment for me that included deep cleansing, exfoliation, and intense hydration with some of Dermalogica's best selling products. For the next hour, I was in skin care heaven!

At the end of my treatment Ari showed me a few of the products she used, and I was left to shop to my hearts content, post-facial with refreshed, glowing skin. I couldn't think of a better way to spend the afternoon, than with shopping and a treatment at Ulta Beauty!  

My facial began with a full back massage. I immediately melted into the warm bed as Erin focused on the knots in my shoulder and upper back with a firm pressure. Following the massage she grabbed a selection of products customized for my skin based on our conversation before the session and began the traditional facial routine of cleansing and exfoliating. After throughly cleansing and exfoliating was another massage; hands and arms are massaged and moisturized, slipped into plastic bags, and tucked into warming mitts before the massage continues, focusing on the neck, shoulders, and upper arms.  

I was as snug as a bug in a very warm rug following my massage while Erin moved on to extractions. I absolutely loveeee the extraction part of a facial. I've sung the praises of thorough extractions from other estheticians before, but none come close to the level of attention my skin received from Erin. She spent the next 20+ minutes throughly extracting the gunk from my pores and I loved every minute of it. After, was a soothing and hydrating gel face mask and one last moment of rest before the 90+ minute experience was over. 

Coming in at #1 in the Best Facial I've Ever Had category, the Relax & Renew Facial at Embody Med Spa was ahhh-mazing. It was an ultra luxurious experience, incredibly relaxing, and I was thoroughly impressed with Erin and her penchant for extractions. Each waxing studio has their own style, but the atmosphere at Waxing the City was very warm, and laid back. I was pleasantly greeted by the front desk staff, and after filling out my paperwork, I was escorted to the treatment room. The room was extremely clean and they have Love Your Muff wipes and disposable undies available, which I thought was a nice touch.



Waxing the City uses an orange colored hard wax, so there's less mess and it's gentler on the skin. Denise performed my service and was very friendly, experienced, and professional. My Brazilian bikini wax took around 30 minutes; a little longer than what I'm typically used to, but the attention to detail was impeccable. Unlike past experiences at other studios and salons, no one was rushing to get me in and out and onto the next client which made for a more relaxing and comfortable experience that I'm used to. Overall, the service was excellent and among the best I've experienced in my years of waxing.

Upon entering the dimly lit treatment room my esthetician took a look at my skin under a bright light and asked me about my skin care ritual and concerns. After talking a bit about my routine and my skin type, she excused herself to grab a selection of products and I made myself right at home between the sheets of the warm bed in the treatment room.


This facial combines the best of both worlds; serious relaxation paired with serious skin care. I loved that this facial included two hot stones beneath the shoulder blades for a little touch of luxury. While I nodded off, my esthetician cleansed, toned, exfoliated, and performed extractions before finishing with not one, but two powerful face masks and an incredible arm and shoulder massage. 

I left the treatment room with plump, glowing skin and a noticeably brighter complexion and ready to book my next appointment! I can't remember the last time I left a facial with such a visible difference in my skin. I've had a few other services at Bella Sante, including the classic HyraFacial and the coconut oil massage with drybrushing, but the City Life Oxygenating facial takes the cake as my treatment of choice.

I stopped by Skin Spa New York to celebrate Spa Week a little early and to indulge in a customized facial before my weekend trip to Foxwoods. My facial included a cleansing and exfoliating treatment, extractions, a mini-neck and shoulder massage, and a hydrating face mask. I left with my skin feeling ultra clean and hydrated and am looking forward to squeezing in one more appointment this month-- $50 is an unbeatable price for these services.

When the seasons change I like to prep for the season ahead and mentally recharge by treating myself to a spa service. While I've been to my share of spas and salons, there's something special about G2O Spa & Salon on Newbury Street. Maybe it's the ultra soothing Brine Inhalation Therapy Relaxation Room, or the Penthouse Roof Terrace, or their experienced team of estheticians and technicians. For me, it was the Skylight Hot Tub. 

When I booked G2O's Custom Signature Facial, I wasn't sure what I was more excited about-- the facial or the post-treatment dip in their hot tub! All spa treatment guests are granted access to the luxury amenities offered at G2O Spa & Salon making services here an incredible value. 




After checking in I slipped into their private locker room, changed into the robe and slippers provided, and was whisked away to a private treatment room for my facial. G2O serves up the Rolls Royce of custom facials; your esthetician will ask you questions about your routine, skin care concerns, and the products you use and make selections based on your answers. I let my esthetician know that clogged pores and dullness were two of my main concerns so she spent extra time on extractions and used a Clarisonic brush to address my concerns about dullness. It was one of the more extensive facial treatments I've received  and so relaxing that I drifted asleep a few times! The treatment concluded with a face mask and soothing hand and arm massage. Your esthetician will carefully wrap your hands and put them into heated gloves for the remainder of your treatment. 






After my facial I headed back to the locker room to change into my swimsuit and enjoy their Skylight Hot Tub on their roof deck. After making myself a cup of tea, I took a cool rinse before settling into the hot tub. I must say, it was the ideal way to end any spa treatment! I'm already planning to book an appointment for my birthday week as I can't think of a better way to celebrate than by treating myself to another luxuriously, relaxing day at G2O Spa & Salon. 

There's something about Spring that gives me the desire to start fresh, to start over; to Spring clean not just my closet, but my body and mind. So I started with my body, and concentrated on my skin specifically. After months of unpredictable temperatures, windy city streets, and dry winter air my skin was dull and lackluster so I ventured to three of my favorite spas on Newbury Street in search of solutions for my winter skin woes.
