Maine Adventures

2:35 PM

When Dan of The Food in my Beard asked if I wanted to join him and a couple of other Boston bloggers for a weekend trip to Maine for a blogger pizza party I was immediately sold on the idea. And hello, blogger pizza party lead by one of Boston's premier food bloggers! How could I say no?

The team at Chevrolet was nice enough to loan us a Chevy Equinox for the weekend so Matt and I loaded up the back and hit the road to Kennebunkport. It was a gorgeous ride made 1000x better by Sirius XM Satellite radio. SO many throwback sing-alongs went down! I had never been to Maine before but growing up in coastal Texas, I felt right at home in Kennebunkport.

When we arrived we checked in at The Boathouse Waterfront Hotel. Casey, our concierge showed us to our rooms. He was a star throughout the weekend and was a pleasure to chat with every morning. We had bright, waterfront facing rooms and it was such a beautiful weekend I was able to leave the balcony open and enjoy the fresh Maine air.

We settled in and headed over to Table to catch the tail end of a cocktail making class where we learned about "navy proof spirits." (Unsurprisingly, navy proof spirits are crazy strong!) After a couple of bourbons we ventured over to local haunt, The Ramp, where we had beer and nachos and mingled with the locals until dinner time. What an amazing meal! Chef Justin Walker from Earth at Hidden Pond created a menu that was to die for.

We ended the night with drinks at the FROSTED ice bar at David's KPT. Thankfully, the bar was downstairs from our hotel room because I ended up taking shots off of an ice luge and things got a little crazy! I woke up at about 5am (still feeling those shots) and watched the sunrise over Kennebunkport before kicking off another food-filled day.

Tomorrow I'll be sharing photos and recipes from our blogger pizza party at Table! You won't want to miss it.
