Pizza Party for Four!

4:15 PM

I shared a little about our trip to Kennebunkport, Maine yesterday but today we get down to business! Dan wanted to test out some of his famous pizza dough in a wood fire oven (which he chopped the wood for himself!!) so we each dreamed up a pizza and Dan made our recipes and creations come to life! Once again, Table hosted us for the afternoon but this time we had the place to ourselves! Patrick and Josh from Allagash Brewing Company in Portland, Maine joined us for the fun because let's be real, what's pizza without beer?

First out of the oven was my pizza, which I called the Sunrise Pizza; ricotta cheese, crispy kale, three fried eggs, and a drizzle of sriracha. I don't wanna toot my own horn, but I totally am because that pizza was delicious!

Next up came Matt's Mac and Cheese Pizza; smothered in cheddar mac and cheese and topped with home smoked bacon it was bursting with smoky flavor. In between all the pizza we sampled a variety of beers from Allagash. I've always been a big fan of their White beer but it was fun to try some of their other offerings like the Interlude, Century Ale, and Saison. They also introduced us to beers by their friends at Oxbow Beer

Following a few more beers Georgina's pizza was next out of the oven. And boy, was it decadent! With prosciutto, shaved asparagus, and fresh shaved black truffles, it was a crowd favorite.

And last but not least was Dan's pizza. Topped with salami, cheese, and arugula! We spent a solid 4 hours at Table making pizza, eating pizza, talking pizza, and drinking Allagash beer. It was a perfect day filled with good food and great friends.

We spent the rest of the day cruising around Maine. After dinner at One Dock Prime at the Kennebunkport Inn Dan and Georina headed back to Boston. Matt and I spent one more night at The Boathouse Waterfront Hotel before making a visit to Portland Monday morning. We held an impromptu tailgating party, toured the Allagash Brewery and ate a flavorful meal at Duckfat before heading back to Boston.

I had the best weekend in Maine and can't wait to come back in the summer time. Special thanks to the Kennebunkport Resort Collection for hosting us!
