What I Wore: What Moves Me with Banana Republic

4:57 PM

When Banana Republic asked me "What moves you?" I was honestly a bit stumped. Somedays I have to bribe myself with cold pressed juices and overpriced lattes to get out of bed, on others I just need a great outfit and a goal. Ultimately I realized, literally and figuratively, my body is what moves me.

A major goal for myself this year has been to treat myself better and get a bit more in tune with my body and what it needs. If I wake up desperate for 10 more minutes of sleep, I'll hit snooze. If I'm feeling tired, I'll pass on that mid-week shopping event. If I'm feeling energetic I'll crush that afternoon spin class. And if I'm feeling like Shake Shack for the millionth time this week, I will order Shake Shack (Chicken Shack + plain fries please!). I was feeling like I needed a bit of a break so we ventured to Newport, RI last weekend for a little getaway and it was just what I needed to reset and get back on track.

I styled my look with the idea of giving my body what it needs and craves and one thing I'm seriously craving is Spring! I paired this short sleeve sequined sweater with a striped tee and white skinnies for an early Spring look that's appropriate for almost any weather. It was a gorgeous sunny day in Newport so I paired it with nude sandals but you can easily swap the sandals for lace up flats or sparkly sneakers if it's still bit colder. Keep an eye for more looks from Newport, plus a review of our stay at Gilded Hotel on the blog later this week.
