Boston Staycation: Revere Hotel

12:52 PM

With it’s renowned rooftop, The Revere Hotel was already one of my favorite summer hangouts (as evidenced in previous posts here and here and in my recent InstaStories) but following a $28 million renovation it’s now Boston’s newest hotspot. With a reimagined concierge space and the addition of a chic lobby bar and lounge it’s certainly something to #BeRevered. The updates truly reflect a chic, downtown hotel that exudes the historical charm Boston is known for. It had been a while since I indulged in a Boston staycation so I took the opportunity to check into The Revere Hotel for the weekend and experience the new amenities for myself. Shortly after check-in I made myself comfortable at the lobby bar, enjoying snacks like mini lobster rolls and kettle chips and garlic aioli dip from their bar menu.

Their lobby bar features an exclusive cocktail menu with specialty cocktails from Boston’s premier bartenders like Tenzin Samdo of Tavern Road and Kevin Mabry of Capo South Boston. Using local spirits, these Boston-based beverage mavens will contribute new and innovative cocktails to the menu each season. Across the bar, the lounge is adorned with a gigantic metal sculpture of Paul Revere and cheeky, "Join or Die" throw pillows; a nod to the political cartoon by Benjamin Franklin and a symbol of the colonial union that fits right in at the Revere Hotel.

The guest rooms themselves were completely redesigned to reflect the hotels commitment incorporating the rich history of Paul Revere, with whom the hotel shares it’s name. Upon entering my room the first thing I noticed was the moody and cozy feel of the room. Classic Edison bulbs, textured charcoal walls, a lofty arm chair emblazoned with a bright red letter "R," and modernist abstract art featuring famed historical figures adorned the room. Our 24th floor guest room had a sweeping view of Boston and the Rooftop @ Revere as well as their newly expanded Rooftop event space. The view is among the best I’ve enjoyed in the city and has been the only Boston area staycation I’ve enjoyed with a large, functional balcony (perfect for hanging out and enjoying a little in-room dining).

I spent the duration of my stay exploring the city and the multitude of things to do nearby; The Revere Hotel is centrally located just beyond the Boston Common steps from come of the cities most notable landmarks and neighborhoods like the public garden, Newbury Street, Beacon Hill, the South End, and some of the cities most delicious local restaurants.

Whether you’re new to the city and looking to explore everything it has to offer or you’re traveling for business and want a place to lay your head with incredible amenities, The Revere Hotel can’t be beat. Every element of my staycation was perfect, from their extensive menu of pillows (seriously, I didn’t know there were so many options), to the endless recommendations of the concierge, I can’t reccomend The Revere highly enough. At the very least, you'll want to visit their rooftop bar and take a dip in that indoor pool. To make sure you get the chance I’ll be giving away SEVEN day passes to the Rooftop @ Revere on my Instagram, make sure you’re following along for the opportunity to win!
