Boston Staycation: The Nine Zero Hotel (Renovated 2018)

9:36 PM

I couldn't think of a better way to ring in 29 than by celebrating in Downtown Boston! Zack and I packed a bag and checked into The Nine Zero Hotel located steps from the Boston Common in the heart of the city and let the celebration begin! I checked in and made my way to our 16th floor room which had stunning views of the State House and Common. The hotel was recently renovated and had a much more modern and sleek decor with the same stunning views!

Upon entering the room I was greeted with the sweetest birthday treat from the Nine Zero; there was an assortment of cupcakes, a fruit & cheese plate, a mini bottle of Veuve Clicquot, and a handwritten note in a beautiful card from the team. We popped open the bottle and kicked off the celebration with a toast before getting ready for a night on the town. We opted for a drink and a bite at nearby RUKA before heading for festive cocktails and the MOET vending machine at The Ghost Walks

By the end of the night we were really missing Bubzy, so we Ubered to get him before going bed. The Nine Zero is a pet friendly hotel, and we had planned to pick Bubzy up the following morning but it didn't feel right celebrating without him so I was glad we went home to get him. He was so excited to be exploring a new space and to be snuggling up with us in a massive bed. He had a bed of his own, the cutest bandana, and a gilded food and water bowl provided courtesy of the Nine Zero-- only the best for their furry guests!

We woke up early the following morning and ordered breakfast in bed before heading out for the afternoon. A full American breakfast with eggs, bacon, and toast, plus my favorite blueberry pancakes, fresh grapefruit juice, and of course, coffee. It was just the fuel I needed for an afternoon exploring the city. We picked up a few sweet birthday treats at Magnolia Bakery and then walked to Chinatown for dinner at Ruckus

It's always a bummer when it comes time to check out! Our stay was excellent and I loved the upscale feel the renovation brought to the hotel; the Nine Zero team was extremely attentive and the housekeeping staff was excellent and super helpful. They recently opened their on-site restaurant and lounge, Better Sorts Social Club, which unfortunately was still getting it's finishing touches during our stay but is now open.

Zack and I are looking forward to going back for a cocktail the next time we're downtown. All in all, it was an amazing weekend and I couldn't have asked for a better birthday celebration. A huge thanks to the Nine Zero team for all of the little touches that made our stay so special!
