What I Wore: Ann Taylor Trench Dress

As predicted my Ann Taylor trench dress has gotten lots of wear over the last couple of weeks. Mostly as a layering piece for drizzly commutes and cool evenings, but also a dress. I wore this look for dinner and drinks with the girls and punched it up with my favorite Kate Spade Taxi flats and a classic red lip. Lately I feel naked without lipstick. I'm not sure what it is, but the extra pop of color helps me feel a bit more polished than bare lips alone.

I added bright colors and quirky accessories to a neutral look. The taxi flats and youthful yellow bag make an otherwise more mature outfit fun and playful for an evening out. Try mixing classic pieces with modern accessories; think a black turtleneck with an elaborate statement necklace or classic high wasted trousers with a mod cropped sweater.
