Pop Up Dinner at Ronsky's

2:37 PM

I've seen the pop up space at The Street at Chestnut Hill host some impressive shops and makers but Chef Ron Suhanosky's cafe and pop up dining space is by far one of my favorite uses of the space. By day, the cafe churns out a steady stream of coffee, pastries, and panini's but by night the space hosts intimate meals for small groups prepared by Suhanosky himself.

Before I left for San Francisco I stopped by for dinner with some fellow Boston foodies and enjoyed a decadent meal at Ronksy's. His tiny kitchen and prep space sits mere feet away from an antique aluminum top table that once belonged to his great-grandmother. It made for such a unique and personal dining experience.

Antipasti consisted of an assortment of Italian meats, cheeses, and marinated olives and was shorty followed by two types of bruschetta; Spicy Nduja and Burrata, and Pear, Whippted Ricotta, and Honey. The spicy nduja was my favorite, the burrata was flown in fresh from Italy that very morning! We then enjoyed a Baby Kale and Roasted Delicata Squash Salad topped with Toasted Pine Nuts followed by a hearty Umbrian Minestrone Soup

It wouldn't be an authentic Italian meal without pasta; Ricotta Cavatelli, Black Truffle, and Roasted Cauliflower made for a non-traditional but flavorful pasta dish. We then shared family style servings of Halibut and Wild Chanterelle Mushrooms seasoned with Rosemary alongside Roasted Tuscan Porchetta, Fingerling Potatoes, and Brussels Sprouts. No meal is complete with out dessert; we had Italian Style Hot Chocolate Pudding, Macerated Blackberries, and Fennel Biscotti

Dinner at Ronsky's was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've had in a while. Chef Suhanosky's passion for food is evident in his creative menu and pop up space- no detail is overlooked. Private dining is available at Ronsky's Thursday-Saturday, 7pm or later, through 2016. $75 per person, excludes wine, includes 4+ courses.
