Back in NYC!

10:31 AM

Thursday morning I headed to South Station to catch the train back to NYC only to be told a drawbridge was stuck and there were no trains going to New York! I totally panicked! Luckily, within minutes we got word that the bridge had been fixed and trains were slightly backed up, but running normally all the way to New York City. What luck, right?

I arrived in the city shortly before 2pm, quickly checked into my room at the Intercontinental near Times Square, touched up my makeup, and headed out the door for lunch at Davio's in Midtown.

Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse is a Boston area favorite, so it was only appropriate that I visit while in the city. I arrived just after the lunch rush, confirmed my 2:30pm reservation, and was promptly shown to a table. It was a nice quiet lunch, perfect for catching up on emails and planning the rest of my afternoon while enjoying a delicious meal.

I opted for the "Executive Lunch" with a simple arugula, Parmesan, lemon, and oil salad followed by pan-seared salmon over a bed of fennel, endive, orange, and olives. It was absolutely delicious, and the salmon was perfectly prepared. I don't normally like olives, but they added such a unique flavor to this dish!

After my meal the chef sent over two of Davio's most popular desserts; the first consisted of frozen goat milk with fresh fruit and edible flowers and the second was a trio of sorbets including raspberry, mango, and my favorite of the three, Moscato! I was so pleased with my experience at Davio's and the service was excellent. I will definitely be back!

I figured I would walk off such a rich meal with a stroll through Central Park before heading to my appointment at SKINNEY Medspa. It was an absolutely gorgeous day with perfect weather for exploring NYC!

I wore...

Gap Leather Jacket (similar) // Talbots Silk Blouse // J.Brand Skinnies // Tory Burch Espadrilles (Luggage color sold out, available in Navy and White) // Piper Tortoise Shell Sunglasses c/o Warby Parker // MICHAEL Michael Kors Handbag // LOFT Tassel Necklace (similar) // J.Crew Leopard Bangle (similar) // Alex & Ani Bangles

Following my walk I headed to my appointment at SKINNEY Medspa in the Flatiron where they specialize in skin care, acne and laser therapy, and more. I got a quick glycolic peel and was in and out and in about 10 minutes.

With my skin refreshed, I hopped on the L train to Brooklyn for the evening to hang out with old and new friends and enjoy a few beers. I had a blast laughing, catching up, and eating pizza.

Tomorrow I'll be sharing photos from Day 2 of my trip which was spent shooting at the Ann Taylor studios! I had such a great time; you're going to love the behind the scenes photos!

I was provided complimentary lunch and services at Davio's and SKINNEY Medspa for review purposes. All opinions expressed are my own.
